Boys and Their Trains

I'm raising two train fanatics. Seriously. Samir already knows types of trains and what they're used for! We took them on a train excursion the other weekend. I was a little worried that four hours on a train might bore them, but I couldn't have been more wrong!

Wrapping Up V Day

The boys with the Chick Fil A cow. They had a "night in Paris" theme night that we went to on Valentine's Eve.

We finished up a couple of crafts for Valentine's Day and ended with the boys' parties at school. I ducked out of work for a bit so I could go to their classrooms. I'm really lucky to have an understanding boss. These are the days that are limited with my babes and I want to enjoy as much as I can!

Valentine's Day

We've been doing some heart projects lately in honor of Valentine's Day. Since it fall on a weekday this year, our plan is to make it a family celebration. More on that later :)

We did some marble painting with paint and glitter
Then we did our names in glitter on hearts because the boys loved the glitter so much!
All that came together to make these lovely name hangers. The boys love that they did it, mama loves that it adds to letter recognition! Samir was even able to point out that their names have all the same letters except for the s and k (totally on accident folks.....but what will we do if there's ever a baby number three?!)
These are some garlands I picked up in the target $1 spot. I bet you can't tell which ones mama colored ;)

Outdoors (in January!)

We've had a few random, not completely freezing days, so we've taken advantage and gotten outdoors!

Playdate Fun!

I don't know about yours, but my kids LOVE playdates! This mommy loves them too ;) Here's a few recent trips we've had.

A Little Bit of This & That

Samir was the flag carrier in chapel at his school last week. He carried the Christian flag and was super excited! I kind of teared up (in the car of course!) when I realized this is his last time to carry the flag in chapel.
We did a quick and easy art project after school one day. All you do is place some gobs of paint on paper, give the kids various car toys and watch them roll! Easy, quick and appropriate for many ages!
A few other after school quiet activities we've done are Legos and bead melts, both of which are great for improving fine motor skills. I've been really focusing on limiting the boys' tv time. So far, so good!
