Marilyn cam to visit over Labor Day weekend, which is always a treat! We managed to pack in quite a few fun activities for her visit and of course got to spend some much needed family time with her as well.
Saturday we went to Saint Joseph's Bazaar. I didn't have my camera with me, so you'll have to take my word that it was fun :) Samir had a blast, playing the kids' games, riding the train and getting tattoos. Grandma was working the tattoo booth, so of course Samir was sure to get his fair share! His favorite were the fireworks and he ended up with three of them up and down his arms. He cried when they came off a few days later.
Sunday we took Grandma Bertha up to Pea Ridge to see her sister, my great aunt Mary. This was the first time she had met Samir, as they don't travel much. She has a little farm, so of course Samir was in heaven there too!
I just love how he's checking Granny out in this picture!

Feeding the miniature horses pears from the tree. They were so gentle and actually wanted me to hold the pear while they used their big teeth to eat it! They were so careful, though, that I quickly got over my intimidation.
Monday we went up to Mount Magazine. We ate at the lodge and just did some good 'ole sight seeing. It is so beautiful up there, that you don't even care that you have no cell phone reception. In fact, it adds to the whole getaway feeling.
